Nova6 Months · Female · German Shepherd Dog (medium coat)New Orleans, LA · 9.2 mi

Good with dogs
Nova is a 6-month-old bundle of puppy joy who's back with us and ready to find her forever home. She was adopted three months ago and recently returned through no fault of her own. Her loss is your gain, because this girl is a delight! Nova has LOADS of puppy energy and plays relentlessly with her German Shepherd foster brother. She's very much a puppy in every sense of the word, so she's looking for a home that's ready to match her enthusiasm with daily, appropriate exercise, playtime, and ongoing training and socialization. Even with all that energy, Nova shows manners around her elderly canine foster brother. She respects his space and lets him enjoy his quiet time. Because we make every …

House-trained
Meet Paxton, a handsome 4-year-old German Shepherd looking for his forever family! A little about him: Paxton is lovely and affectionate, and very chill in the house. He is incredibly smart and is able to play nicely on his own. He is extremely sweet and affectionate with his people. Per his foster, he has been an absolute joy to have around. He was even a very good boy at the vet when he went for his vaccines. He is very smart and has already learned "sit", "down", "leave it", and is working on more. Paxton is heartworm positive and has already started treatment. With proper care and treatment (handled by the rescue), he is expected to make a full recovery and go on to live a long, healthy …

Good with dogsHouse-trained
Here's Duchess — Found eating trash in the street, she'd landed in a small, hot, rural shelter. Now, thanks to some amazing volunteers, she is safely with our rescue. She is a young (between 1 and 2 years old) petite, 50-lb sweetheart looking for her forever family! Don't let her smaller size fool you, she's got a big heart. Duchess is affectionate, snuggly, and just wants to be near her people (or curled up in your lap, if you'll let her). She's an absolute doll — her foster put it best: "She is a catch!" A few things that make her extra special: Loves other dogs — she settled right in with her GSD foster sister showing her the ropes House trained and crate trained Still working up her cour…

Meet Breezy! This two-year-old German Shepherd is an absolute sweetheart — affectionate, gentle, and loves meeting new people and soaking up all the attention. He's settled beautifully with his foster family's resident German Shepherds so would most likely enjoy being in a home with other friendly and playful dogs. Breezy is calm and easygoing at home, incredibly intelligent, and a joy to train. He is on medication to help with separation anxiety— his adopter would simply continue that protocol. As of now, separation anxiety is no longer an issue for him! Breezy is heartworm positive. He is currently undergoing treatment and handling it like a champ! If you're after a loyal, loving, playful,…

Baby Girl is a 1 year old, 60-pound German Shepherd settling into foster life and starting to show her true colors including a goofy, silly side we're loving more every day. She's a classic loyal shepherd who loves being near her people, and her foster mom is gently helping her build confidence and independence along the way. She has been spending time with other dogs on a weekly basis and is great with them! She appears to be good or fairly neutral toward other dogs on walks and is showing calm curiosity toward cats. Baby Girl is current on vaccines, spayed, and heartworm negative, UPDATE: Baby Girl and her foster are working on her socialization/interactions with dogs and people once a wee…

The second incident was during a trial end of September through TPR. Katta bit the roommate twice through a sneaker and left puncture wounds and this is when first bite was initially brought to FC's attention. She tried going after the woman a 3rd time but trial adopter was able to stop her. Katta is protective of her home and cannot be placed in an apartment setting, with kids, or with a lot of visitors.

Good with dogs
Tested HW- in Nov 2023, but positive in July 2024. Will do slow kill. Came to us with a limp/holding rear leg up. 11/28/23 Dr. Cody at MSAH examined and recommended surgery for a partial CCL tear. After carprofen/gaba the limp stopped. 12/20 Dr. Joe re-examined and said the knee had minimal play and he wasn't comfortable doing surgery at this point. He may need it some time down the line, but his knee is currently stable and not causing pain. 7/1 limp returned, LC vet says it's bothering him and should be addressed. 10/25/2024 saw MSAH again. Dr Joe said he has some arthritis in his left hip. Right knee and hip look totally fine! Said PRP might help but would recommend librela injections fir…

A local trainer noted Armi's attention to detail aka "ball drive," and went through quite a bit of training to be considered for TSA or K-9 work. Turns out Armi wasn't down for on-call or 9-5 work and prefers to be a independent contractor. She just couldn't bear the thought of anything interrupting zoomie time with her foster brother. With that said, she is still best suited for a forever home of one of 3 types.... 1. Retired canine military personnel 2. K-9 LEO that understands her drive 3. An active family with a big yard, no other pets and a LOT of throw toys. Or just someone who understands. She is trul…
